// Disaster recovery

A recovery plan you have actually tested

Backups alone don't get you running again. We design recovery around how long you can afford to be down, then prove it works with scheduled tests.

// Who it's for

Is disaster recovery right for you?

  • Businesses that cannot trade without their systems
  • Organisations concerned about ransomware
  • Companies needing evidence of recovery for insurers or auditors
  • Teams whose backups have never been restored

// What's included

Everything managed, nothing left to chance

Delivered by our UK engineering team from York, for organisations anywhere in the country.

  1. 01

    Impact assessment

    We agree recovery time and recovery point targets for each system.

  2. 02

    Immutable backups

    Copies that cannot be altered or deleted, even by an attacker with admin access.

  3. 03

    Second-site replication

    Data replicated to a separate UK data centre.

  4. 04

    Runbooks

    Step-by-step recovery documentation for every critical system.

  5. 05

    Scheduled testing

    Restores and failovers tested, with written results.

  6. 06

    Incident support

    Engineers lead the recovery when an incident happens.

// How it works

From first call to fully managed

  1. 01

    Assess

    Identify critical systems and acceptable downtime.

  2. 02

    Design

    Backup, replication and failover architecture.

  3. 03

    Implement

    Deploy and document the recovery platform.

  4. 04

    Test

    Regular tests with reports you can show auditors.

Disaster Recovery questions

Can't see your question? Ask an engineer.

What is the difference between backup and disaster recovery?

A backup is a copy of your data. Disaster recovery is the tested plan, infrastructure and people needed to get systems running again within an agreed time after a major failure.

What do RPO and RTO mean?

RPO (recovery point objective) is how much data you can afford to lose, measured in time. RTO (recovery time objective) is how long you can afford to be down. Our disaster recovery starts from a 15-minute RPO.

Do immutable backups protect against ransomware?

Immutable backups cannot be changed or deleted for their retention period, so attackers cannot encrypt or erase them, which makes them a key part of ransomware recovery.

How often is recovery tested?

Restores are tested monthly, and full recovery exercises are scheduled with you, with written results provided.
